GRAHAM LEAR

Originally from Plymouth, England, Graham began drumming at age eight, auditioning for the Police Boys Concert Band of London, Canada. An early student of Police Band alumnus Don Johnson and Robert Comber, he also cites Canadian jazz great Terry Clarke and Mandela drummer Penti Glan as musical influences. With private tutoring by Ralph Humphrey, Bernard Purdie, Duduka DaFonseca, and a student of Grove School of Music, it all culminated in the development of a unique style that is validated by the thousands of views of his drum solos on YouTube.

In 1974 Graham moved to Los Angeles with Canadian singer Gino Vannelli during which time the Grammy nominated Powerful People and Storm At Sunup were recorded, produced by A&M records icon Herb Alpert. Significantly, drumming legend Buddy Rich covered two tracks from those sessions, Storm At Sunup and Love Me Now, for his Speak No Evil album. The critically acclaimed Vannelli recording, Gist Of the Gemini, followed, engineered by Geoff Emerick at Air Studios UK.

Having listened to the Vannelli recordings on his European tour bus, Carlos Santana tasked then manager Bill Graham with finding Lear for his band. The rock impresario personally located Graham in Toronto rehearsing with guitarist Domenic Troiano, and within the month, Lear was performing before a sold out Wembley stadium with Santana. Recordings from the ensuing European tour resulted in the double platinum album Moonflower for the group. 1987 found him with rock group REO Speedwagon for their U.S. and South American tours, and with the Canadian progressive group Saga for their European tours.

Grahm will be performing with Randy Stirtzinger on Hammond B3 Orgarn and Roy Patterson on guitar on Sunday, December 16th at Cork’s in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

CINNAMON JONES

Behold the very essence of an unadulterated phenomenon of talent. Cinnamon was designed to leave an indelible impression for all to admire. She embodies an unequaled exhibition of love and dedication for the art of music which shows through her innovative blend of genres. Her body of work reflects inspiration from gospel, Blues, Jazz, Pop, R & B, and Soul. Her ability to bring together these many influences infusing them all with a Gospel core, stunning vocal prowess, and commanding stage presence, lends to a performance that is both moving and unforgettable.

Since leaving California, Cinnamon has returned to her native State of New York. She currently resides n Rochester, NY where she’s sang commercial jingles for United Way, Pella Windows, Shear Ego (Salon/Spa), Rochester Transit System (RTS), Henderson Automotive, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Aside from her role of entertainer, Cinnamon is also a humanitarian. She continues to give benefit concerts (while soliciting local musicians) to help local and worldwide organizations such as; The Tsunami Relief Benefit held in February 2005, Alternative for Battered Women held in May 2006 and Children Awaiting Parents 2013 just to name a few. With excellent musical instincts, and the earthy voice that matches the searching sincerity of her songs, Cinnamon loses herself in the power of the music, allowing it to flow uninhibited through her voice. All you’ll need to hear is one note bellowed by this talented beauty and you’ll be caught up in the rapture that is truly a spice of Cinnamon!

She rcently toured in Denmark, Austria, Spain, Finland, Germany Paris and Africa with the Campbell Brothers.  In 2014 Cinnamon Jones created a stage play which she has produced, written and directed as well as performed call LADY OF SONG where she pays tribute to legendary woman of music.  The show received rave revues in the 2014 and 2015 Fringe Festival.

Ms.Jones has performed twice a the TD Niagara Jazz Festival, is an all-time favourite of TD NJF fans and she brings down the house every time!

CARIBBEAN CLUB TRIO

Fusing the rhythms of Latin America and Spanish Flamenco, Zach Preston brings a new perspective on modern Spanish guitar. With intricate melodies and a tradition of honed technique originating from hundreds of years of Spain’s Mediterranean heritage, Zach connects Latin America with Spain; countries that reside an ocean apart, but share a common musical harmony.

Canadian born, Zach was soon to leave his comfort zone with the goal of learning more of Spanish and Latin American music and culture so as to better create a current and modern portrayal of what this music is, and its potential. After living in Spain, Zach ventured into Latin America where he absorbed the rhythms of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia and Mexico to mesh them into a style reminiscent of Hispanic America’s and Spain’s fiery heritage.

“Estilo Cohiba” is the name Zach gave to his band that backs him up. It consists of seasoned percussionists from Cuba and Colombia as well as Bass guitar and Alto Saxophone.

Zach Preston -Guitarist, Studied music between Canada, Latin America and Spain.

William Preston – Currently study Jazz Bass at Humber College in Toronto

Laura Varela – Originally from Bogota Colombia, currently between Canada and Colombia while studying vocal music at Bellas Artes, Barranquila in the Carribean Coast of Colombia.
